Why volunteer with Good Heart Tech?

You already know how to run IT like a pro. Volunteering with Good Heart Tech lets you aim those MSP skills at missions that matter: shelters, community theaters, environmental nonprofits, free health clinics, and other organizations that could not otherwise afford this level of support. Helping them stay secure and operational is one of the most rewarding ways to use what you already do every day.

What to expect as a volunteer

You'll serve as the dedicated account manager and primary technician for a subset of nonprofit partners. You own those relationships: day-to-day IT needs, knowing their environments, and being their consistent point of contact. Other GHT volunteers may assist on specific tasks or when you need help, but you keep things moving.

We look for volunteers who:

  • Are currently working at an MSP or MSP-specific vendor
  • Can commit at least 8 hours per month of volunteer work, logged in Halo, preferably more
  • Can keep at least 4 hours per week open on your booking link so nonprofit partners can schedule time with you
  • Can manage your own time and work independently without real-time back-and-forth
  • Communicate clearly with non-technical and technical users

A few other things to know

  • You're never expected to respond instantly or know everything. Clear communication matters more than speed.
  • Our volunteer model follows the MSP model you may already know from day jobs: ongoing support, documentation, and partner relationships.
  • Volunteers review and agree to our volunteer agreement before onboarding.
  • Learn more about our values and culture on our Culture & Values page before applying.
