We Empower Nonprofits With Tech

Founded in 2019, Good Heart Tech is a volunteer-run, Boise-based 501(c)(3) that brings nonprofits the kind of ongoing IT support businesses get, free of charge. We work as partners: we learn your mission, then help tech stay out of the way. Many volunteers come from the MSP world, so small teams, tight budgets, and messy-but-real setups feel familiar. Donations fund hardware and software for our nonprofit partners.

What's your mission & vision?

Mission: To empower nonprofits and marginalized populations with technology, enabling them to work smarter, focus on their mission, and create a greater impact.

Vision: We enhance nonprofit efficiency and effectiveness by leveraging IT expertise, deploying innovative solutions, and maximizing the benefits of free and affordable technology resources.

Where are you based?

We were founded in, and mainly work out of Boise, but we have some partners in other states. That being said, we can provide most of our services completely remotely. If you are wondering if we can support you, drop us a line.

How can a nonprofit help me?

We're a nonprofit specializing in deploying and researching technology for nonprofits. Our volunteers bring strong IT experience, mostly from MSPs, and we put it to work for you. Have a tech project or problem? We can help.

What technologies do you support?

We're willing to work with whatever you have and recommend solutions compatible with your current systems. If you're looking to replace some old tech, we can recommend the latest and greatest. We've seen just about any configuration or setup you can imagine. In other words, we're very flexible. See our Services page for more information and a full-service listing.

What are the nonprofit eligibility requirements for free services?

To qualify for our free services, your organization must meet the following criteria. If you don't qualify, feel free to contact us about our discounted rates.

  • Staff Size: Fewer than 50 paid staff. We prioritize smaller teams so our help goes where it matters most.
  • Government funding: Less than $2,000,000 in external funding per year so we can focus on organizations with tighter budgets.
  • Organizational type: We don't offer free services to groups funded or run by religious institutions, homeowners' associations, or neighborhood associations. We may decline groups that promote hate or harm. We focus on nonprofits that create positive change.

If you meet these requirements or have questions, please reach out. We're glad to talk through your nonprofit's tech needs.

How do I become a nonprofit partner?

Reach out on our Contact page and tell us which services you need. We'll learn about your organization and see if we're a fit. We say partner on purpose: our work rests on trust, shared goals, and mutual respect. Learn more about our culture and how we work.

Do you have any guarantees around your services?

We don't. As a volunteer-run organization, we rely heavily on our network of business partners and volunteers to be able to provide free services. If you require service level agreements or 24/7 support, we can provide you some references for good MSPs.

Our MSP Model

A managed service provider (MSP) is an IT company that helps other organizations with technology on an ongoing basis: answering questions, fixing issues, keeping systems healthy, and planning for what comes next.

We work in that same way. Many of our volunteers are active in the MSP world in their day jobs or have been for years. That keeps us connected to the tools, practices, and vendor relationships that professional IT teams rely on, which we apply to supporting nonprofits. You get the same habits and care you would expect from that kind of team, with nonprofit missions as the focus.

Help Us Help The Community

By supporting us, you help provide free IT services to nonprofits, enabling them to focus on their missions without technology hurdles. Every contribution, big or small, helps strengthen our communities.
