What is Good Heart Tech?
Good Heart Tech is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 84-3156575) founded in 2019 in Boise, Idaho. We provide free managed IT (MSP-style) services and free technology resources to qualifying nonprofit partners across the United States.
Is Good Heart Tech really free?
Yes. Qualifying nonprofit partners receive managed IT services at $0. There is no subscription fee for eligible organizations. Donations from businesses and individuals fund the program; partners are not billed for standard partnership services.
What does “free MSP for nonprofits” mean?
A managed service provider (MSP) provides ongoing IT support: helpdesk, security, cloud administration, backups, and consulting. Good Heart Tech operates in that model and provides those services free to qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit partners. Learn how our MSP model works.
Who is eligible for free IT services?
Eligible organizations typically have:
- Fewer than 50 paid staff
- Less than $2,000,000 in external or government funding per year
- 501(c)(3) status and alignment with our partner criteria (we exclude certain org types such as religious-institution-funded groups, HOAs, and neighborhood associations)

What services are included at no cost?
Depending on your partnership level, services can include helpdesk support, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, security hardening, SaaS backups, phishing simulation, WordPress maintenance, phone system guidance, cloud migrations, and technology consulting. What is not included?
Good Heart Tech is volunteer-run. We do not offer service level agreements (SLAs), guaranteed 24/7 support, or on-call enterprise coverage. Organizations that need those guarantees can ask us for referrals to commercial MSPs.
How is Good Heart Tech different from TechSoup or NTEN?
TechSoup provides discounted software and hardware; NTEN is a community and learning network for nonprofit technology. Good Heart Tech is an MSP-style nonprofit that directly provides free hands-on IT support, security services, and managed tooling to qualifying nonprofit partners.
How is Good Heart Tech different from a commercial MSP?
Commercial MSPs charge monthly fees for IT management. Good Heart Tech is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides similar ongoing IT support at $0 for qualifying partners, funded by donations and volunteer labor. We use partner rather than client to reflect mutual trust and shared mission.
Do you only serve Boise or Idaho nonprofits?
We were founded in Boise and work with many Idaho nonprofits, but most services are delivered remotely. We support nonprofit partners in other states when remote support fits their needs.
How do nonprofits apply or get started?

What are the Lite, Focused, and Comprehensive partnership levels?
All three partnership levels are $0. Lite Consulting supports larger nonprofits with in-house IT. Focused Partnership adds specific services alongside your team. Do you support Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace?

Do you offer cybersecurity services for nonprofits?
Yes. Security services include SaaS backups, security monitoring, phishing simulation, endpoint protection guidance, domain and email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and practical compliance-oriented improvements. See Security & Compliance.

Is there a free Microsoft 365 security audit for nonprofits?
M365 Audit is a free, read-only Microsoft 365 tenant review operated by Good Heart Tech volunteers. It emails a plain HTML report with prioritized findings and does not modify your tenant. View a sample report. For hands-on remediation, eligible nonprofits can contact us about free MSP partnership.
